Dr. Sung Il Park is a tenured AssociateProfessor in School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University .[申请查看] earned his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University . After postdoc training at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he took a faculty position at Texas A&M University in 2016 and moved to ShanghaiTech University in 2024. He isa Changjiang Scholar and a recipient of 2018 NARSAD Young Investigator Awardfrom Brain & Behavior Research Foundation which is one the world’s largestnon-government funder of grants for brain study. He has published over 30peer-reviewed journal papers in Nature, Nature Biotechnology, Neurons, NatureCommunications, and PNAS. These works featured in many new outlets includingABC (one of broadcast in USA ),NSF Discoveries, MIT Technology Review, Dailymail, Sciencetimes, etc. He isholding 5 US patents.

The Park lab collaborated with renownedexperts including National Academy of Science member and Howard Hughes MedicalInstitute Investigator. [申请查看] was the first to develop a fully implantableoptoelectronic device that can be used for studies of peripheral nervoussystems. We are developing soft neural interface platforms that can controlneural interfaces and integrate data transmission, signal processing, and powermanagement. These works involve fabrication of electronic systems anddevelopment of novel antenna systems and integrated circuit systems. Inparallel, we are studying novel methods to maximize wireless power transmissioninto biological tissue. 岗位职责：

Postdoctoral research associate/scientistsjob responsibilities:

1) Participate in the design andimplementation of experimental plans, carry out high-level scientific research,and publish high-level academic papers (the research group strongly supportsresearchers who have made achievements to participate in international academicconferences to make achievements reports and show their elegance);

2) Report the work progress to PIregularly and assist PI in laboratory construction;

3) Assist PI in guiding master's anddoctoral students;

4) Complete other tasks assigned by PI.

Research assistants' job responsibilities:

1) Participate in the relevant scientificresearch work of the research group;

2) Assist in the daily management of thelaboratory, including the daily operation and maintenance of equipment,laboratory procurement and laboratory safety;

3) Responsible for the collection,sorting, archiving and backup of documents, materials and experimental data ofthe research group, and responsible for the regular update and maintenance ofthe research group's website.

招聘条件：

1 The application conditions forPostdoctoral research associate/scientists:

1) Get or will get a doctorate inBiomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and other related majors, andexpertise in device fabrication, device characterization, materialcharacterization, electromagnetic analysis including antenna design andwireless power transmission, and/or circuit design are highly recommended. Experiences with animal testing is alsowelcomed;

2) Strong scientific research ability andlearning ability, and strong interest in the research direction of the researchgroup;

3) Strong communication and Englishwriting skills in both Chinese and English;

1) Bachelor's degree or above in scienceand engineering;

2) Serious and practical work, strongsense of responsibility, good coordination and communication skills andteamwork spirit;

3) Good English reading and writingskills;

4) Experience in hardware systemdevelopment or signal processing is preferred.
